The series is dedicated to Leonor Fini (1907–1996).
A talented overlooked artist of the 20th century who loved cats. She had over twenty of them. In her works, she often depicted herself as a sphinx and liked to portray women as bold and charismatic. Fini has been called a surrealist several times, but never wanted to identify herself with trends or movements. She confirmed the statement "I'm not a muse, I'm an artist" with her extraordinary works and unconventional life, about which she once said: "Marriage never appealed to me, I've never lived with one person. Since I was 18, I've always preferred to live in a sort of community - a big house with my atelier and cats and friends, one with a man who was rather a lover and another who was rather a friend. And it has always worked.”
